Winter Survival Skills 2026 - Attention NH Cadets
NEW and final date March 21st, 2026
Mount Washington Squadron will be presenting Winter Survival Skills 2026 including litter carry, ice rescue, fire and shelter building, radio communications, and much more. They will also be holding specific ground team training for any trainees who want to work on specific qualifications. Please email with any questions or for more details (joneil@nhwg.cap.gov).
This is a fantastic opportunity for cadets to learn more about winter survival in general, how to be better prepared for cold outside conditions, and develop their skills in the Emergency Services mission of CAP.
There is no cost to attend this event, it will be held at Mt. Washington Regional Airport in Whitefield NH. Arrival time is 0830, the activity will conclude at 1530.
There will be a provided hot lunch, with squadrons bringing dishes in a pot-luck fashion.
Cadets and squadrons are responsible for their transportation, so please ask your senior member staff if there will be van transportation. That can make a very real difference in interest for an activity.
Registration zone signups will be opening in the next few days, but in the meantime to get a handle on numbers, staff members and skill interest, all applicants are asked to fill out this Google form as well:
