NH Legislative Squadron Change of Command
February 14, 2026
Concord NH - The New Hampshire Wing Civil Air Patrol recently conducted a Change of Command Ceremony for the Legislative Squadron, marking both a transition in leadership and a moment to reflect on a journey that began many years ago.
Major Timothy P. Lang shares that his Civil Air Patrol story started as a freshman in high school in Anchorage, AK with the Elmendorf Cadet Squadron at Elmendorf Air Force Base. After relocating to Charlotte, NC he continued his cadet career with the 111th Air Rescue and Recovery Squadron.
During his time as a cadet Major Timothy P. Lang was selected to guide Egyptian Air Cadets during their visit to Washington, DC as part of the International Air Cadet Exchange Program, and the following year represented the Civil Air Patrol abroad as an exchange cadet traveling to Switzerland. He also attended Officer Candidate School, participated in Project X, and competed at the National Drill Team Competition where their team earned a 2nd place national finish. After his time as a cadet was over he joined as a senior member to mentor cadets.
Major Lang credits Civil Air Patrol with teaching invaluable lessons in communication, diplomacy, discipline, and leadership, lessons he has carried forward into his service as a senior member mentoring the next generation of cadets.
At the ceremony, directed by Col Nic Goupil-NH Wing Commander, Major Timothy P. Lang relinquished command of the Legislative Squadron to Lt Col Michael Moffett. While stepping aside from command, he will remain an active squadron member and continue supporting its mission.
We thank Major Timothy P. Lang for his leadership and dedication and look forward to the continued success of the Legislative Squadron under Lt Col Moffett’s command.
